Château Haut Méthée is a family estate owned by the same family for 4 generations. Eric Masse, the actual owner took over the vineyard in 1996 but has worked on the domain with its parents since 1983. Throughout the years, he expands the estate and covers now 55 hectares situated at Cézac, a small village situated between Blaye and Libourne. The 20 years old vineyard produce around 2600 hectoliters of wine per year and is planted on clay and limestone hills, ideally exposed to the sun.
Vinification
Picking at optimal maturity.
Winemaking in thermo-regulated vats.
Fermentation in cement and stainless steel vats.
Ageing in cement vats.
Grapes varieties
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
Tasting notes
Château Haut-Méthée reveals a bright red color with purple highlights.
The nose displays intense and charming notes of concentrated black fruit such as blackberry and black currant.
The palate is supple, round and fleshy with well-blended tannins and a lingering finish on fruity aromas.
Food & wine pairing
Château Haut Méthée will be ideal with a grilled entrecote, a roasted pork in sauce, a platter of cheese or with chocolate-based desserts.
Serve between 16° et 18°C.
