History
This wine was created in homage to the Lady of Piegros, who was an influential figure in the world of wine in the 17th century. His will stipulated that the estate – former stronghold of Piegros – is still managed in the Provençal tradition.
Tasting
Red color with garnet reflections.
Intense nose of black fruits and spices accompanied by discreet and well-melted woody notes which give the wine its character.
On the palate, the wine has good volume and remarkable balance. After a fleshy attack, fine and velvety tannins line the palate. An elegant concentration is expressed in the finish on notes of black cherries. The taste balance between acid sensations, alcohol and tannins, guarantees an aging potential of 5 to 8 years.
It all depends on the taster’s preference for a young, virile wine or a more supple wine with more complex aromas.
To taste between 15 ° and 20 °.
Accords
Ideal with cooked meat dishes and hard cheeses. A passage in a carafe of a few hours is recommended.
Awards
2017: Gold medal at Decanter Asia Wine Awards 89/100.
